I was inspired by this, completely by a song.
I saw the Avett Brothers in a small venue in Augusta Ga, a bunch of years ago, and have followed them since. There are many good songs, but “I, and Love, and You” always caught my attention.. The lyric is “three words that became hard to say”, not “Three words that should not be hard to say” as I use here, but I am not telling the Avett Brothers story of running away, and having a city take you in, just to ultimately disappoint you. (this is MY interpretation). I am looking forward here.. Those words should not be hard to say when you mean it, and you should not use them at all when you don’t. It’s obvious from the outside looking in, but sometimes not as easy while you are ..”inside” of a relationship. But remember.. if those words are hard to say.. don’t say them. Basic lesson there.
The materials are Cedar shakes from the homestead I found in Leyden Colorado (please visit “ethereal memory angel” for the story, and narrative I gave these OLD, OLD, cedar shakes. I counted the rings on this particular piece, and there are over 400! 400 years of growth on this small piece of wood. I still can’t get over it. I had my friend Jamie Berry Burn the text in with her laser in raster mode. (Thanks Jamie!) And, for the glass, I have taken to buying old frames at resale shops to use the glass to slump with! This tactic has really worked out well so far.
I gifted this to my niece Evia Vandercar on her wedding to Stephan Klimczak. My wish is for this young couple to be forever happy!
