With each exhale, A leaf gifts us the breath of existence, weaving oxygen into the fabric of our world. Through their intricate veins, they channel the elixir of life, quenching the thirst of the earth and painting the sky with hues of green. In their delicate embrace, creatures find sanctuary, nesting amidst their verdant canopies, while their gentle rustle soothes the weary soul. As they cascade to the earth, they become offerings of nourishment, enriching the soil with their gentle decay.
The first leaf, a maple leaf, made out of old copper, mounted on a forged spiral, was almost an accident. Really, I was simply practicing how I was going to mount the thick copper leaf to the steel. For the maple leaf, I used brazing rod, and for the Fig leaf, I used 70% silver. My girlfriend said that they would make a nice ring holder for a dresser or night stand. I might try to make more variations. When I do, I will post them here. In every leaf, I want a story to unfold, a connection to an actual leaf I held in my hand. A testament to the interconnectedness of all living beings,
In their preservation lies the promise of harmony and renewal for generations yet to come.
