My mother was a religious person.

In this collection, the artistry meets spirituality, and creativity intertwines with symbolism. come with me to embark on a journey through a diverse array of artistic crosses, each imbued with its own unique story and significance.

At the heart of this collection lies a deeply personal connection to the symbol of the cross. My mother, a woman of profound spiritual depth, often spoke of dreams where crosses featured prominently. Inspired by these visions, she herself began to craft crosses, infusing them with her own emotions, experiences, and faith.

In honoring her memory and the legacy she left behind, this collection celebrates not only the symbol of the cross but also the enduring bond between art and spirituality. Each cross within this collection carries echoes of my mother’s dreams, resonating with a timeless sense of reverence and wonder. Join us as we explore this captivating fusion of art and symbolism, where every cross tells a story, and every story is a testament to the power of the human spirit.

Within this collection, my exploration of the cross extends beyond singular representations, delving into the realm of variation and reinterpretation. Drawing from a core design imbued with personal significance, I have crafted numerous iterations, each offering a fresh perspective and a unique artistic expression.

Like a composer revisiting a familiar melody, I have approached the design of the cross with an inventive spirit, experimenting with different materials, techniques, and conceptual frameworks. From minimalist renditions to intricate embellishments, from bold reinterpretations to subtle nuances, my creative journey unfolds in a symphony of form and symbolism.

The wood, old fence rail. The copper, from old transmission line, a connection to my past. The glass, old window glass, the glazing failing, falling away.

For Easter this year (2024) I have made a special Easter version of this cross, to hide as an adult Easter egg, so to speak. It’s a smaller, simpler version, but I hope it is appreciated. If you have found it, I hope you comment here.

Ill be posting things like this at https://www.facebook.com/groups/localartisttreasurehunt/ for future reference. Friend that group, and you will get the early clues!

  1. The first one is my favorite probably because of the blue, my favorite color. You are very talented my brother. Love you a bushel and a peck.

  2. I just found your lovely copper cross on purple 💜 wood. What a delightful surprise. I will keep it to remind me of my mom, Martha, who passed away in 2016. She, too, was very spiritual like your mother.
