While I was releasing the “Cowboys and Indians”, My sister was visiting with old friends of theirs. She Must have shown them the collection, because they really like them, and wanted a piece! My sister sent me a picture of their living room, to give me an idea what might go with it, I presume. But that fireplace.. classic in the adobe style. I loved it! I bet I could do something with that!
Lets see what I can come up with.
Here is that magnificent fire place.
Lets cut that out of copper!
Yes, I think that will do.
Lets add it to a very old cedar shake from that abandoned homestead in Colorado I visited.. you remember the one.. near Leyden Co, and old mining village in the foothills.
I did not clean the copper all the way. And when i went to put some heat in it to give it color, it jumped to a brown right away! I really don’t know why the reaction was so fast.. I need to figure it out though, because it really is a great color!
I want to thank My sisters friends for hosting them. I hope you enjoy this piece.
Right before I sent this out, I found out that My sisters friends Husband who was sick when they were visiting, had died.
I want to dedicate this to Bob.
RIP.
This an awesome gift,
God Bless
Ed, I absolutely love your interpretation of our kiva fireplace. You have a gift in creating a piece of metal into art that feels warm and inviting. I love it and have if proudly displayed for all to enjoy.
THANK YOU
